Rehearsal Dinner: Outdoor Eating Events

For rehearsal dinners these events are very impressive, generous, and decadent; yet they are unpretentious by virtue of their casual outdoor setting and the style of service involved.  We have found that they provide a perfect opportunity for two families to meet in a low stress, ultra causal manner.  The next day, during the wedding and festivities that follow, family members are more relaxed and inclined enjoy each others’ company.   

 

Traditional Lobster Boil

Served outdoors or in, this meal includes 11/4 lb lobsters cooked in sea water and served whole with drawn butter, fresh rolls, and lemon. Side dishes include potato salad, Caesar salad, and lemon squares for dessert.

 

Boiled Corn

When in season.

 

Gourmet Burger Bar

Barbequed Homemade Beef and Vegetarian Burgers with Kaiser Bun. 

Guests choose from an array of toppings including Montréal smoked bacon, avocado, fried eggs, sautéed mushrooms, fresh tomato, lettuce, onion, and fantastic cheeses: blue, havarti, brie, gouda, cheddar, and mozzarella.  Side dishes include potato salad, Caesar salad, and chef’s choice squares for dessert. 

Add Butter Poached Lobster Tails on Corn Risotto to this event for $12 per person

 

Gourmet Mussel Bar

At an outdoor bar our chefs cook mussels to order up to 12 different ways.  This event has a great visual impact and is perfect for mid to late afternoon gatherings or cocktail parties.

 

Seafood Station

In addition to mussels (as described above) our chefs will prepare pan seared Bay of Fundy Scallops, Thai garlic chili shrimp, and our homemade fish cakes.     

 

Oyster Bar

Oysters on the half shell, served raw with horseradish, lemon and hot sauce; in a shot glass with a virgin Caesar, or warmed in a truffle cream sauce

 

Chocolate Fountain

Fountain of hot fondue chocolate with fresh fruit and cookies. A great late night treat.
